Monday, September 7, 2009 at 03:22AM really wanting to write a great song.... sometimes they are there, and then sometimes not so much.... maybe I should go find some nice drama and involve myself somehow, that always helps the inspiration flow. Ha. Too bad pianos aren't very portable - it would be awesome to go write on top of a mountain at night. Should have taken up guitar.....

Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 01:49PM wow. Jackson has been working on a new song of ours - sort of a new direction for us (americana-ish, little bluegrass influence). It sounds amazing! Peter came over to lay down the bass line yesterday, and it is starting to really sound good.... Unfortunately, our rig is set up in a tiny room, with no AC. Given that Peter sweats like crazy, this was not an ideal set-up for him.... or our headphones, which now smell like Peter-sweat. Even MY head smelled like Peter-sweat since I put them on after him. Oops.
We will be playing a show in Pasadena on September 9th. Just a fun, free gig. We'll be playing several new tunes in public for the first time...
And, we are organizing a photo shoot. Finally! Getting sick of the old "bush" photos... looking forward to some new images, minus green leaves!
BTW: Check out my brother's website! He is a new comic book artist on the scene, and is really really amazing. The front image on our website was drawn by him. You can see what he's up to with some of his new art and projects at www.rahsanekedal.com

Monday, August 17, 2009 at 02:41PM This weekend we finally got our first pro tools rig. Upon opening and setting up, I realized I had absolutely no clue what I was doing... Sort of felt like entering an alien planet. I had the constant fear that any button I pushed would automatically ruin everything... logically, they probably did NOT design a self destruct button in the program, but that didn't stop me from worrying about pushing it.
We did make progress, and I must say that the ability to record alone for as many hours as you want is amazing. AND, I can now make as many vocal tracks as I freaking want to! Ha! I can quadruple every back-up part I ever sing. hella harmonies!!!
So, onward we go toward tracking lots and lots of new stuff. I will start posting some working tracks for fun too...
respectfully yours,
T
